President & CEO

In February 1984, Tim Annett began his logistics career at TMC Transportation in Des Moines, Iowa. TMC is a family-owned business and Tim had the privilege and opportunity to work for his father and learn the business from the ground up. He graduated from Drake University with a BS in Business Management and worked his way up the ladder, eventually being appointed President of TMC in 2004. From 2002 through 2007 the company tripled in size from organic growth as well as several strategic acquisitions. The experience and lifelong lessons it taught Tim were paramount to the success of his next venture.

In 2008, Tim wanted to pursue something on his own and try his hand in the non-asset-based logistics arena. Desiring to remain in the Des Moines area, Tim reached out to his good friend, Gary Alvord. Gary and Peter Dugan had started WorldWide Logistics in 1999. Over the next several months many discussions took place and on April 15th, 2008, Tim purchased WorldWide Logistics from Gary.

It is Tim’s desire to grow WorldWide Logistics into one of the top 3PL’s in the country, similar to what was done at TMC in the flatbed market.

Currently there are over 11,000 logistics companies (Brokerage) in operation and consolidation will continue at a rapid pace. WorldWide Logistics is now one of the largest privately held logistics company’s in the country based on current employee count and revenue. Our future is full of opportunity and our ability to capture significant market share is within our grasp.
